Set (6) Sterling Silver 950 Solid Spoons - each is hallmarked 950 - and these were made from 1925 until 1960 and they were made in Japan. These spoons are made in the shape of a Shamisen. The shamisen or samisen (三味線), also sangen (三絃) — both words mean "three strings" — is a three-stringed, Traditional Japanese musical instrument derived from the Chinese instrument sanxian. It is played with a plectrum called a bachi. The hand made wooden box is adorned with a faux leather covering which shows wear and is torn in a few spots. The inside has a blue felt covering and the original brass hinges are functional. The top inside of the box has the original label from Sakai Silver Smiths in Japan.
